OUR SERVICES

Consulting from early design through construction documents, we use a range of energy modeling tools to help you develop a roadmap to performance, and have confidence in getting there.  We help you:

  • Save and make money,
  • Understand your design options,
  • Track progress and achieve higher performance!

Our services include:

Whole Building Energy Modeling

Integrate the building elements, daylighting, lighting power density (W/sf), and mechanical equipment choices.  Use Performance Method whole building energy modeling.

Daylighting Analysis

Enhance daylighting opportunities, and integrate with electric lighting systems.  Use spreadsheet analysis, shade angle studies, and performance illuminance calculations.

Lighting Design for Typical Spaces

Develop schematic electric lighting design to achieve desired lighting levels, integrate with daylighting design in the designated spaces, and optimize energy saving potential.

Renewable Energy Feasibility Studies

Provide a 3rd-party estimate of the feasibility of Photovoltaic (PV), solar thermal, or wind systems. Include output, area, layout, general costs, rebates, and LEED points.

Documentation: USGBC LEED Certification, Title 24 Submittals

Assist in identifying, achieving, and documenting the related LEED credits. Provide submittal documentation for LEED, Title 24, and incentives. Estimate related carbon emissions and reductions.

Financial Incentives

Identify opportunities and help increase utility incentives and federal tax incentives.

CSI Incentives for PV Installation

In order to qualify for incentives through California Solar Initiative (CSI) for PV Installation, commercial projects must now document energy performance of at least 15% better than Title 24. Brummitt Energy Associates can assist project teams by documenting this performance level or offer recommendations to achieve the required performance levels.

Energy Star Benchmarking for Existing Buildings

California's AB 1103 will require Energy Star benchmarking when a commercial property is bought, leased, or refinanced after July 1, 2010. Since an Energy Star benchmark looks at the past 12 months, now is a good time to begin planning for it! Brummitt Energy Associates can assist project teams by performing site audits, reviewing building performance, and offering recommendations to improve a building’s Energy Star rating.

We look forward to working with you to develop an appropriate scope for you, and to help you achieve a higher performance project!
